RAMS is a program to enable the Next to play a host of classic arcade games. So, is RAMS an emulator? No, not strictly. Are the games in RAMS remakes? Nope, we are running the exact arcade code directly from the arcade roms. So, we are at a loss to describe RAMS. Anyone, please help…..
RAMS supports both landscape and portrait monitors (games permitting) and offers 2-3 view modes for each game so that you can find the best choice to suit your setup.
RAMS currently supports these games.
- Donkey Kong
- Donkey Kong (JAP)
- Frogger
- Galaxian
- Pac Man
- Pac-Manic-Miner-Man
- Hangly Man
Both the front-end and the individual games contain settings that can be used to tweak game play, redefine keys, etc.
Also, if you have a Megadrive pad (or equivalent) then RAMS will also support that, allowing credits to be added using START, and the buttons to commence a 1 or 2 player game.
Games can be exited (returning to the front end) by pressing BREAK, or on a Megadrive pad, by pressing START and FIRE at the same time.
NOTE
RAMS requires the original arcade roms to function, without these RAMS will just show the front end and will error upon game launch.
We cannot supply these roms, and we will not help anyone in procuring them, though what we can say is that RAMS will work with the roms from the MAME sets.
